Review

Couple of years after the release of the IR sensor of that device several manufacturer of IR cameras managed to finetune their software! So did InfiRay as well. Back in dezember 2022 many users were complaining about the missing functionality of the official app. Today (january 2024) many of the necessary functions got added and fine tuned. A development kit got released by the manufacturer (see official website of the device), allowing third party programmers to release own software solutions without the need of time consuming reverse engineering of the communication protocolls. The manufacturer itself released a software solution not only for iOS and Android, but for Windows as well, allowing the camera to be used with computers!

From the technical point of view the camera does the job done pretty well and is one of the best ones in that price segment. For those, who want to use it for electronics inspection on a PCB level with smaller components, keep in mind, that you will need the additional macro objective, to increase the magnification and can tell the components apart a lot better.

Keep in mind, that the camera was developed for indoor use only and might not like the humidity spikes while being used outside, for that purpose a handheld UNI-T or simmilar with IP65 protection or higher should be better!

To sum it up, i am not regreting the decion of getting that small piece of hardware as a replacement for my old and long time ago becoming outdated IR camera.
